Requirements

Supervision by a teacher or an adult during the presentation of the speakers is required to ensure that there are no behavior problems.

Availability

The dates and times are flexible, depending on the availability of volunteers. The number of students speaking French varies from year to year and depend on the origin of the international students.

When there is no transportation available, volunteers of "Bridges" can make their presentations via videoconference, especially for schools outside of Edmonton. 

French services are available on request and subject to availability. Please notify in advance.

Description

The Bridges Student Speakers Program allows you to welcome University of Alberta students to your classroom to present and share their first-hand perspectives on life and culture from different regions of the world. Your students will learn about various cultures around the world to break stereotypes. 

For over 20 years, "Bridges" speakers have joined schools and community organizations to share their language, their knowledge and international experience with the local community.
