By engaging youth in a parliamentary simulation, they explore multiple elements included in the social studies program, most notably is a democracy, functions of government and the basic workings of parliament. The event also enables students to practice French, specifically oral skills in a public speaking context and written skills. Finally, by interacting and engaging with Francophone from all the western provinces and territories, participants from all backgrounds will have the chance to network and gain an appreciation for Francophone perspectives in minority contexts.



Participants must be between the ages of 16 and 25, have already participated in a model parliament and they must pay the participation fee ($375).

Spaces are limited to 45 participants. Only 5 spaces are reserved for participants from Alberta

The Parliament Franco-Canadian du Nord et de l’Ouest is a model parliament for French-speaking youth ages 16 to 25 from everywhere in north-western Canada.

This year, the association franco-yukonaise will organize the PFCNO, to be held in Whitehorse November 7-11, 2019. 

Participants will take on the roles of members of parliament or as a page to learn how parliament works while assisting other members. The seats are limited! Do not miss your chance to participate in one of the most iconic events of the Francophonie North and West.
