Programming offered to students from kindergarten to grade 12 in a variety of subject areas directly related to the Alberta curriculum.
This multimedia exhibit, a national educational initiative for students from kindergarten to grade 12, is available free of charge to teachers across Canada. This seven-year initiative was created by Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in collaboration with Indigenous members of the Hall of Fame and many partners from Indigenous communities, sport, the museum sector and history. Indigenous Sport Heroes: An Educational Experience is the first educational exhibit of its kind that shares the stories of 14 Indigenous Hall of Fame members. This initiative will shine a light on the truths and experiences of these extraordinary Indigenous heroes, which will then spark conversations about equity and inclusion through sport, ultimately aiming to promote a more informed, united, inclusive and stronger Canada. The e-book also includes chapters dedicated to the creation of the Tom Longboat Awards and the winners of these awards, as well as the Indigenous Games, including the Arctic Winter Games, the North American Indigenous Games, and the World Indigenous Games.
