During the activity, students will discover movement and physical activities while appreciating French-Canadian culture and explore different types of francophone dances from around the world.
The School dance workshop provides experts in cultural dance in order to teach a variety of activities to students, all offered in French.
All the instructors are bilingual and can adapt their speech and content to the needs of the students participating in the activity.
The workshop aims to create an appreciating for cultural dance.

CD player and adequate room (ideally without carpet)

Availability

During the school year. Workshops must be booked a minimum of six weeks in advance. Note also that the days of the workshops and their duration may vary depending on the availability of the teachers.

Number of participants

Maxiumum of 30 participants per group. More than 30 increases the cost.

Duration

Between a few hours or days depending on the workshop that is chosen.

Cost

$100 / hour (without transportation and per diem). For offers of more than two days, contact us for our flat rates.

Description

L'Association La Girandole offers a variety of dance workshops designed to initiate students of all ages to dance and to the performing arts.Our workshops are given by professional artists and are geared towards francophone students as well as Anglophone students in French immersion schools.

These workshops emphasize movement, language and music, in order to address stimulating themes which respond to the objectives set forth by the Alberta Minister of Education's French, Social Studies and Physical Education programs.

Three types of workshops are available:

Introduction: Over a period of 2 to 5 hours, this workshop allows children to be introduced to a dance style while having fun.

Exploration: In three days, children will discover the basics of a new style of dance.

Composition: This five-day workshop allows children to explore dance and deepen enough style so they can present a short performance to the school and parents.
