RESOURCES
ZONE FRANCO

TRAINING

In addition to helping providers promote their services to schools, ACCENT offers free training on how to adapt educational activities to better meet the needs of the French culture and the different levels of French language.

Thus, the ACCENT training allows service providers to acquire the necessary tools to meet those needs. Following the training, participants will:

  • Understand the three French language educational contexts in Alberta.
  • Master the Alberta curriculum to better integrate study programs.
  • Develop tailored pedagogical resources.
  • Adopt best practices to support teachers in their daily work.

 What to expect:

  • Workshop 1: Overview of French-Language Educational Contexts and Alberta Curriculum (November 5, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM online)

This workshop will provide a brief review of French-language educational contexts. Participants will have received, beforehand, three video capsules developed on this topic for the ACCENT project in 2016. The workshop will include an exploration of Alberta's new curriculum (from kindergarten to grade 6), as well as the study programs from grade 7 to 12, to help service providers situate their offerings within the Alberta educational context. Following this workshop, participants will be invited to continue their reflection in order to propose a more targeted service offering during Workshop 2.

  • Workshop 2: Integrating the Alberta Curriculum into Services for the Target Audience (November 19, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM online)

This workshop will begin with a review of Workshop 1 and a discussion on reflections regarding the integration of Alberta’s curriculum and study programs. Then, successful practices will be explored in line with various educational requirements and teacher support within the continuity of the project.

  • Individualized Support for Each Participant:

Each participant will benefit from up to 3 hours of personalized one-on-one meetings tailored to their specific needs, to assist them in their process. It will also be possible to integrate artificial intelligence tools for planning and writing project proposals, depending on the participants' skills.

  • Workshop duration: 4 hours (2 hours per session)
  • Dates: November 5, 2024, and November 19, 2024
