Description

Developed with the support of teachers and professionals in education, the proposed sheets primarily seek to bring teachers to discover the local newspaper with their students and to use it as part of their educational activities. The local newspaper is a mine of valuable information to support the work of teachers and contributes significantly to the development of community and sense of identity of young people.

Thus, the activities that are aimed at 12-13 year olds offers them the opportunity to become familiar with their newspaper while the activities for 14-15 year olds go a little further by bringing them to understand the mechanisms of the newspapers. As for students ages 16 and older, they are encouraged to question the role of the media today and deepen their thinking by looking at the treatment of the information.

This series of educational activity sheets is a tool that will remain relevant over time and that will grow with young people, and contribute to their progress on the issue of Canada's minority Francophone press.
