Ever Active Schools develops a number of resources that support wellness education and comprehensive school health (CSH). These resources are available for download or purchase on our website. Ever Active Schools also serves as a connecting point and hub, sharing and highlighting many of the other great resources developed by our partners.
French Recipe Card (Ever Active Schools)
The French set is available for Kindergarten to Grade 6 and were developed for the Elementary Generalist teachers by experienced Alberta physical education specialists. Each set of double sided, card stock, full colour 5”X7” cards has 6 lessons in each of the six dimensions (types of gymnastics, dance, individual activities, alternative environment games and a daily physical activity unit)
Move & Play Through Physical Literacy (Be Fit for Life & FSFA)
The Be Fit For Life Network has created the Move & Play through Physical Literacy cards to assist activity leaders interested in integrating Physical Literacy into a variety of programs, activities and environments. These cards are designed to be used in a variety of applications including the home, school or community settings.
1, 2, 3 On Bouge (FSFA)
This resource was developed by Fédération du sport francophone de l'Alberta (FSFA) to support Daily Physical Activity. The cards are sturdy (double laminated), come with 18 cards in a set, and they support DPA and the PE curriculum.
Media Literacy & Food Marketing (University of Calgary)
The University of Calgary developed a Media Literacy & Food Marketing curriculum from focus groups with over 600 Canadian children in Grades 1 to 9. The fact sheets are available in both English and French.
The Rainbow Connection (Parkland School Division)
The Rainbow Connection, translated in French by the FSFA, was created to increase the amount of vegetables and fruit that children and youth aged 4-13 eat each day. Teachers, parents, students and others can use this resource in a variety of ways, including teaching healthy eating, facilitating taste testing and packing healthy lunches. The Rainbow Connection was developed using Alberta Health Services' School Nutrition website and Eating Well with Canada's Food Guide.
Recess Box (FSFA)
The Recess Box contains equipment as well as game ideas that can be played indoors or outdoors. The box contains 2 balls, 6 tennis balls, 2 long jump ropes, 2 short jump ropes, 4 dice, 2 elastics, 6 scarves, 1 domino set, 9 bean bags, 1 pack of cards and a plastic box to hold all the equipment. Each box also contains a book by Acli Ontario: Games for the recess.
MES HABILETÉS & RÉCHAUFFEZ-VOUS Posters (FSFA)
The poster MES HABILETÉS demonstrates different fundamental movements to deepen stability, motor and object maninupalation skills. This poster is available free of charge! The poster RÉCHAUFFEZ-VOUS demonstrates fundamental movements for a good warm up session that will prepare your body to do some physical activity.
Card game "Lucky 7s" (FSFA & be Fit For Life)
This card game was created for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students and offers seven different game ideas to explore the 4 colors. An excellent resource that will keep you moving while developing core competencies.
