Description

The Alberta Francophone Games is a province-wide event that regroups hundreds of young francophones and learners of French, ages 13 to 18, for a weekend of sporting competitions and arts contests while also taking the time to celebrate. A unique opportunity to talents to the test, speak French and meet young people from everywhere in the province while highlighting pride or discovering Alberta’s Francophonie. 

SPORTS DISCIPLINES

Cadet (Grades 7 to 9)

  • Basketball 3×3 – mixed
  • Badminton – singles, doubles and mixed
  • Soccer 11 x 11 – mixed
  • Ultimate – mixed
  • Kin-Ball – mixed

Junior (Grades 10 to 12)

  • Volleyball – boys and girls
  • Basketball 3×3 – boys and girls
  • Ball Hockey – mixed
  • Soccer 3×3 – boys and girls

ARTS DISCIPLINES

  • Music – Grades 7 to 12 – presented by the Centre de development musical (CDM) in a competition format between groups or artists from each region
  • Fine Arts – Grades 10 to 12 – presented by the Centre d’arts visuels de l’Alberta (CAVA) in a workshop format and a timed constrained task by two artists of each region.
