Linked to the learning outcomes for social studies, French classes and fine arts, students will be evaluated on the graphic/visual execution of their drawing of the coat of arms, and also the quality of their justification including the quality of French used in the explanatory text that must accompany the coat of arms. Deadline for submitting an entry is 4pm on March 23, 2018
Teachers may have for students to participate individually, in small groups or have the whole class creates a single entry as long as all the students are of the same grade and that the students’ names are clearly indicated. One teacher may submit more than one entry, but only one entry per student is allowed.

During the Franco-Albertan flag raising ceremonies at the Rendez-Vous de la Francophone, ACFA presents a contest for students in grades 3 to 6 to showcase their francophone pride.
Participants can make an entry as a group or individually. They must design a coat of arms that represents Alberta’s Francophonie as well as a text that describes the symbols they chose.
Participants could win a full-size Franco-Albertan Flag for their classroom.
