L'Atelier Bleu M'ajjjiiik has been creating and presenting awareness theater in elementary schools since 1986. From its inception, the company has designed interactive methods with students in order to arouse their desire to improve their social skills.
As a continuation of this work, Atelier Bleu M'ajjjiiik has developed workshops for students based on the philosophy developed by the company over the years. Each workshop is based on an educational and artistic approach.
The angle chosen is that of cooperation, communication, awareness of words, body and voice in order to give authenticity as much in the interpretation and production of a show as in the words and gestures. of everyday life.
These workshops are adapted to the age of the students and to the needs of the teachers and the school. They are offered, as desired, in one or more meetings.
During the workshop, students are invited to discover the commedia dell'arte and its history. They will be part of this discovery through the exploration and personification of the different characters. They will experience the basics of masked improvisation and therefore use their creativity to combine it with elaborate body play. For the student, this body language makes it possible to express and understand feelings without resorting to speech and facial expression.
This masked theater workshop raises awareness:
- The importance of body language with wearing a mask (postures and movements)
- The choice of voice timbre according to the mask and the characteristics of the character
- Space in the space (movement, amplitude of gestures, agility, occupation and sharing of space, etc.)
- The impact of behavior according to the personality and characteristics of the characters of the commedia dell'arte.
We also deal with stage presence and sharpen the sense of observation. All of these aspects of theatrical performance are interrelated and develop the ability to put yourself in the shoes of a character.
