Description

The Rivière Bleue book collection is a versatile and easy-to-use educational tool that integrates personal and social development, French, performing arts, visual arts and math.

It fits into the project-based pedagogy and can also be worked on individually to achieve different learning or behavioral objectives.

The Rivière Bleue collection includes ten titles. It is published by Chenelière Éducation.

Here are the titles in the Rivière Bleue Collection:

For 6 to 9 years old

- Pourquoi me casser la tête (theme: the desire to learn)
- Caprices et petits bobos (theme: caprices)
- Sois poli, mon kiki  (theme: politeness)
- Les petits plongeons (theme : self-esteem)
- Les yeux baissés, le cœur brisé (theme: violence)

For 9 to 12 years old

- C’est moi qui décide (theme : citizenship and living together)
- Arrête, ce n’est pas drôle ! (theme: bullying)
- Coup de main (theme: cooperation)
- Bris et graffitis (theme: vandalism)
- Ah! les jeunes, ils ne respectent rien (theme: prejudice)

  Each book contains...

... a main theme for each book

The theme is used in such a way that the student can recognize situations that he or she has experienced or that are experienced by students of the same age in his or her environment.

 ... a reproducible play
Once the sheets have been reproduced, they can be folded to form a small booklet that facilitates reading as well as theatrical practices. It is interesting to note that one may prefer to use the text of the play only as a reading or reflection tool.

The play helps develop oral communication, reading, vocabulary, reading comprehension and writing skills. It also provides a reflection on the theme, the taste for living, respect and self-esteem. It develops knowledge of feelings, a taste for effort, dramatic expression, memorization, concentration, imagination, diction and creativity.  It promotes cooperation and allows students to integrate the experience into their behavior.

... suggestions for discussion on the topic
Suggestions for discussion in the form of questions invite students to give their opinions and share their experiences. Discussion helps develop critical thinking skills, self-esteem, respect for others, knowledge of feelings, discernment and independent judgment.

... reproducible educational activities
These are supported by clear explanations, the purpose of each activity, varied and original suggestions for use and, of course, corrected exercises. The activities help develop comprehension of the text, oral communication, reading, writing, understanding of the subject, characters and feelings experienced, vocabulary, reflection, critical thinking and integration into everyday life.

... a table of objectives
This informs the user about the objectives of each activity. The table allows the teacher to plan the activities according to the objectives he/she wishes to achieve.

... the editing of the play
The assembly of the play allows any teacher or leader to assemble the play without having any special knowledge beforehand.

... a section on the presentation of the show
The presentation of the play helps to develop pride, emotional control and a positive attitude. It also provides an opportunity to share what you have learned and to encourage reflection among the audience.

... complementary activities
These activities allow for the integration of the play's theme into everyday life and add personal aspects to the performance. The complementary activities allow students to work on written production, oral communication, commitment to the community, imagination and a zest for life.

... a project evaluation section
Feedback on the activity helps develop constructive criticism, respect, humility, the desire to surpass oneself, solidarity and cooperation.
