Availability

The Wordfest is held annually during the week following Thanksgiving  in October. Reservations are open from May.

2016 edition: October 7 to 16

School sessions : +/- 1 hour - the authors come to the schools.

Public meetings : +/- 75 min - students, teachers, parents and children can attend public meetings that take place in various cultural venues in Calgary and the Bow Valley region.

Description

Wordfest is a French language literary program that welcomes emergant and renowed writers from Canada and other French-speaking countries to participate in a cultural and literary exchanges with Francophone and Francophile communities of Alberta.

The objective of this program is to enable children to discover or rediscover the literature and the joys of reading in a new and interactive way. It's a chance for them to meet passionate writers who, through their work and their interventions have only one goal: share their love of reading and writing.
