Workshops can be personalized as much as possible to match the curriculum or the needs and requests of the school.

Prices for in studio workshops:
1.5 hours: $300
3 hours: $400
6 hours: $550

Prices include artist fees and art supplies. Workshops are based on a group of 25 students. 

The price of in classroom workshops will vary.

Description

Taught by professional artists, the workshops are offered at the gallery located in Edmonton (9103 - 95 Avenue). These workshops can be taught in your school but additional fees for the artist travelling expenses and material are applicable. The school will also have to provide a computer for the PowerPoint presentation.

- Millefiori: Personalized Gift (art, French, science)
Using this Italian clay, students will create a gift for a special someone.

- Negative to Positive Mould Method
(art, French, science, social studies)
After creating a negative mould out of clay, students will pour plaster to reveal the positive image.

- Gargoyle Masks (art, French, social studies, religion)
After studying various gargoyle forms, students will be given a chance to sculpt a gargoyle head in Styrofoam.

- Abstract Portrait (art, French, social studies, mathematics)
Students will produce a portrait and decide how to divide it with the use of lines and other geometric forms.

- Caricature (art, French, science, social studies)
The students will choose a model and find which trait can be enlarged to give it a funny expression.

- Collage in Mosaic (art, French, science, social studies, mathematics)
Students will draw a picture on a piece of cardboard. Then they will tear small coloured pieces from magazines, using a variety of shades of the same colour to give this portrait a mosaic look.

- Mosaic (art, French, science, mathematics)
Students will learn to cut their own tiles out of opaque, coloured glass, and they will glue these according to their design.

- Sand Mandalas (art, French, religion, science, social studies)
For thousands of years, the monks of Tibet have practiced a stunning art: the making of sand mandalas. Students will learn the traditions behind the art and the technique, the symbolism of impermanence inherent in a work of art made of sand. They will then create their own mandalas.
