ACCENT contest - Write a poem

The contest aims to encourage literary creativity among students in Francophone and immersion schools.

Theme: The theme of the contest is "My Future in French" or "My Dreams for the Francophonie in Alberta." Participants are encouraged to explore their imagination and express their emotions through their poems. They can draw inspiration from the suggested word bank.

Contest Rules: The contest is open to all classes in Alberta for groups from 7th to 12th grade. Each participant can submit only one poem. Poems must be individually written by students and must be written in French.

Format: Poems must be typed. Participants are free to choose the poetic form that best suits their artistic expression. This may include free verse, sonnets, haikus, or any other form that inspires them. The recommended font is Times New Roman, size 12. Poems must be submitted before the deadline, March 31, 2024, using the following form.

Evaluation: Poems will be evaluated by the ACFA team based on the following criteria:

  • Originality
  • Creativity
  • Effective use of language
