2025 ACCENT contest - Decorate your classroom
Objective
Encourage creativity, collaboration, and community engagement among students in French-language daycares and schools, French immersion programs, and French as a second language courses in Alberta.
Participation Criteria
- Open to all classes (K-12) in Alberta, including daycares.
- Class decorations must align with the 2025 theme: “My Francophonie, My Story.”
- Only one submission per teacher.
- Various materials can be used: paper, cardboard, fabric, paint, etc.
Key Dates
- April 6, 2025: Submission deadline.
- April 30, 2025 (latest): Winners announced.
Student Collaboration
- Role distribution: Divide students into groups based on their interests and talents (artists, planners, assemblers, etc.).
- Collaborative brainstorming: Organize a class discussion to share ideas related to the theme.
- Creative workshops: Set aside dedicated times for each group to work on different aspects of the project.
- Showcasing ideas: Encourage each student to contribute by sharing a personal story or memory related to Francophonie, which can be incorporated into the decoration.
Evaluation Criteria
- Creativity and originality
- Quality of artistic execution
- Overall coherence with the theme
Prizes
Winning classes will receive:
- A French classroom decoration kit for the teacher.
- A pizza lunch for the entire class (maximum value of $150.00).
