This panel aims to highlight the Month of Francophonie in Alberta 2024. We are excited to present some of the resources available for teachers to organize activities in schools during this month.
We welcome the ACFA, provincial advocacy organization dedicated to the development and defense of the interests of Francophones in relation to governments. ACFA also offers local programming of activities and services through its regional offices.
Additionally, we have the pleasure of hosting the Alberta Francophone Artistic Grouping (RAFA), established in 2001. It is the official advocacy organization for arts and culture of French expression in Alberta. RAFA connects, supports, and promotes the professionalization, growth, and vitality of the Alberta artistic community.
The ACFA (Association canadienne-française de l’Alberta) is the provincial spokesperson organization for the development and advocacy of the interests of Francophones with the government. It provides local programming of activities and services throughout 13 regional offices. This year, the ACFA will once again act as the coordinator for the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie 2024 in Alberta.
The Rendez-vous de la Francophonie (RVF) is part of the cultural events surrounding the international Day of the Francophonie (March 20), organized annually to promote the French language and its various expressions across canada. March has been declared the Month of Francophonie in Alberta since March 1, 2018.
The ACFA specifically supports the organization of Franco-Albertan flag-raising ceremonies held in several regions of the province on the first Friday of March. Schools and organizations participating in the celebrations are invited to contact the ACFA to obtain promotional materials featuring the Franco-Albertan Francophonie flag available in the online store.
The Regroupement artistique francophone de l’Alberta (RAFA), pokesperson for the arts and French cultural expression in Alberta, connects, supports, and promotes the professionalization, growth, and vitality of its artistic community.
Through the Francophone Artistic Group of Alberta (RAFA), French-speaking artists and cultural workers in Alberta inspire and shine in their communities and beyond their borders through their creations and actions.
Leslie Cortés will join us to present the RAFA artist database and guide us on how to use it to find artists who can make presentations in your schools.
