Workshops can be personalized as much as possible to match the curriculum or the needs and requests of the school.
Workshops are available during the school year.
Up tp 25 participants. If more than 25 participants are registered, prices will be adjusted.
Between 1.5 and 6 hours.
Prices for in studio workshops:
1.5 hours: $300
3 hours: $400
6 hours: $550
Prices include artist fees and art supplies. Workshops are based on a group of 25 students.
The price of in classroom workshops will vary.
Taught by professional artists, the workshops are offered at the gallery located in Edmonton (9103 - 95 Avenue). These workshops can be taught in your school but additional fees for the artist travelling expenses and material are applicable. The school will also have to provide a computer for the PowerPoint presentation.
- Halloween (art, French)
The students will sculpt a three-dimensional face out of clay, and then create a mask by covering it with glue and tissue paper.
- Christmas Angels (art, French, religion)
Students will learn how to make several angel crafts, which can be used as Christmas decorations or gifts.
- Christmas Motifs II (art, French, religion, science)
Students will learn the concept of proportions to create Christmas figurines in three dimensions with clay.
- Christmas Decorations (art, French, religion, science)
Starting with multicolored beads, students will develop a creation that is both beautiful and delicately crafted.
- Christmas Wreath (art, French, religion, science)
A plastic product made of polymer (called “shrinky-dink†by crafters) lets students shrink their artwork. Students will print or paint designs on a sheet of this special plastic.
- Easter Menagerie (art, French, religion, science)
Styrofoam eggs are decorated with ears, tails, beaks and other shapes suit funky animals.
- Torn Paper Bunny (art, French, religion)
Students make a collage using colored, regular and recycled paper.
- Canadian Beaver (art, French, science, social studies)
Students will sculpt a clay beaver to serve as a pencil holder. The different textures of this animal will let them explore more techniques in that medium.
- Dream Catchers (art, French, social studies, religion)
Fabrication of dream catchers from the same materials the Native Americans used.
- Chinese Boxes (art, French, social studies)
The students will create jewel boxes and decorate them using collage techniques with beautiful Chinese paper.
- African American Quilts (art, French, social studies)
Students will learn about special, handmade quilts, sewn by certain families in order to give directions and warnings to fleeing slaves.
- Egyptian Arts (art, French, science, social studies)
In Egyptian art, people are mostly shown in profile. The objective in this workshop will be to present a family scene using clay and plaster.
- In the Sea or the Jungle (art, French, science, social studies)
Students will create, using mixed media, an underwater or jungle environment.
- Roman Mosaic (art, French, science, social studies)
Students will learn more about Roman art while recreating a mosaic.
- Greek Vases (art, French, science, social studies)
Students will use the negative to positive mould method to create a plaque with a relief vase. Then, they will draw a scene inspired by Greek mythology or the Olympics.
- Aztec Plaques (art, French, science, social studies)
Students will use plaster and dyed macaroni pieces to create a mosaic-like, three-dimensional design that depicted scenes from their lives in the style of Aztec art.
- Introduction to Watercolour (art, French, science, social studies)
They will study the mixing of the primary colors and several watercolor techniques.
- Clay Sandcastles (art, French, science)
After studying various castles from around the world, students will sculpt castles in clay and decorate them by covering them in sand, seashells and other sea objects.
- Stained Glass (art, French, science, religion)
After tracing a stained glass pattern onto black construction paper with a piece of chalk, students will cut out this motif and fill the spaces with brightly colored tissue paper
